remember when everyone on this website briefly argued about coleslaw? good times
just rewatched the original toy story for the first time in a while because i wanted to to form my own opinion and see if the internet was right (movie is good), or if my family was right (movie is good, but the internet is overselling it).
as it turns out, this movie is way better than i remembered
the “what-if” premise is interesting and pretty much became the successful formula for every subsequent pixar movie, the stakes are believable considering the premise, the main character isn’t as much of a jerk as i thought considering he does grow as a character towards the end, and at only an hour and 20 minutes the story knows when it’s done and doesn’t waste your time with filler, but it also doesn’t feel rushed or anything
not to mention just… how impressive it is from a technical standpoint, i mean this thing changed animation as a whole and they were able to do it in 1995 with only 30 million dollars
i realize i’m talking about a movie everyone in my generation watched when they were five, but i kinda underappreciated it up until now, i think the sequel fatigue just left a bad taste in my mouth and made me forget it’s actually quite good
so uh… yeah idk what i’m going on about, thanks for reading lol
this may have been a poor rabbit hole to fall down, my vinyl collection has since expanded to include the following

- therealsullyg’s first otamatone album (might be the first and only time the otamatone can be heard on vinyl)

- the soundtrack to world of goo (which has a funny error where the spine is printed upside down, according to the record label every single copy was accidentally printed this way)
- the soundtrack to vvvvvv (appropriately named vvvvvvinyl)
- the soundtrack to crossy road castle (look i wanted the pikuniku vinyl but that hasn’t been in print for six years and this was the only other calum bowen game that happened to be on vinyl and that i’d played before)
- as of today, the iam8bit exclusive version of the mario movie soundtrack (turns out it’s a banger when it’s not mixed with overplayed pop songs!)
- in june 2026, the breath of the wild 2xlp (considering canceling my pre-order and getting the complete box instead if my wallet will allow it)
- whenever fangamer restocks it, the complete undertale soundtrack
- considering holding off on the deltarune soundtracks until 2035 or whenever the game is finished, just in case they make a definitive edition box set with all the chapters included or something
i now own minecraft volume beta on vinyl! i went with beta instead of alpha because it’s my favorite of the two.
next i’m gonna either get minecraft volume alpha or the entire undertale soundtrack

it’s somewhat poetic how a zelda game that was in development for at least five years and was supposed to be the wii u’s “killer exclusive” instead turned out to be the switch’s killer exclusive* and killed the wii u in the process
*at least pre-odyssey anyways
