What does my personality come across as online?
@jeffalo you have the same laptop as Andrew Tate. Midnight MacBook Air
The problem is that each one has custom code added on, so they can’t work together easily

We have too many and an ever increasing number of scratch “alternatives” like penguin mod, and gandi.
“What do I pick?? This one has project sharing but this one's UI is really nice… Oh and this one does both but it has less features…”
How do we build our own community if there are an overwhelming number of options?
I think we need like some way to unify all these projects in a centeral community without creating a new standard.
OMG you got me so good!! I literally jumped when I saw this post!!
This post is my second most commented on post. The most commented on one has 129 comments. It’s also my 2nd most reposted (tied with another one).

America needs a new political party. Both of the current ones are bad. Republicans are way too reactionary, Democrats are pro-censorship, and both are getting more extreme. Neither appropriately represents an average person.
LET’S GO BOYSSSSSSS I JUST BOUGHT A MACBOOK PRO WHICH I SAVED UP FOR 6 MONTHS TO GET!!!
🎉🥳🎊👏🎈🎁🙌🍾
Specs: M2 Pro (10-core, not 12-core), 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 14-inch
verification was made up by humans though… so it’s an arbitrary definition. And, the original system was fundamentally flawed (like all human systems). You could be verified just by being friends with a twitter employee or by paying someone enough (in which case it literally does mean, ‘i have money!’)
And, you’re not just paying for the blue check. You also get monetization (!!) and other quality-of-life stuff. I think it’s worth it for a power user, just for monetization.
The everything app argument is different, but just because they’re adding new features, doesn’t mean they’re deleting the old ones. And, you don’t have to use those features if you don’t have to. No one is forcing you to.
Personally, I think such an app would be nice, if done right. It would be an easier UX to have the same app do everything, rather than a different app for everything.

i was thinking about the pay-to-get-verified thing that’s happening now. verification is designed to tell people that an account is actually what/who they say they are, not a badge to say ‘i have money!’
secondly: this whole ‘everything app’ thing is…silly. honestly if someone opens twitter, they are probably looking to post something or look at things, not order food or cash a check or whatever other shit musk thinks twitter needs.

twitter is no longer worth saving
Twitter is on its redemption arc. As a daily twitter user (I don’t have an account but I scroll on there), it has gotten more funny and engaging than ever. And you can now make a living off of twitter. If (and when) I start a Youtube channel, I would definitely start posting the videos on twitter and being monetized.
And yes, I know all of your reasoning. I’ve heard it all before. Twitter is objectively getting better (unless you care about politics more than user experience)
I think, if anyone other than Elon had bought it, you wouldn’t be complaining this much.

ubuntu sucks now
the mango-flavored chewy candies are disgusting. any teacher who dispenses them should not be allowed near children
twitter is no longer worth saving
not everything needs to be about politics. literally, i go anywhere other than school or home, and the moment i try and talk to someone they just decide to bash me for my political beliefs and then go on and on about theirs
