Also another thing I was wondering - I get that you are christian so that’s why you put “Alhamdilu Al-Yasu” in your bio, but what would be wrong with the Muslim “Alhamdulilah”? Arab christians call god Allah too, so I’m sure Alhamdulilah would still not violate christianity or be a heresy or something.
Yeah, I thought about that too, as I’m kinda trying to learn arabic. I just thought it would be good to kinda differentiate between Christianity and Islam so people know exactly what I’m talking about. But you’re right, a lot of Christians do use Allah for God.
I was just wondering, is there a difference between the KJV and NIV bible? I’m not christian, but I was just wondering the differences between them. Also, which one do you use?
Yeah, the Bible is written in Hebrew and Greek, and meant to be translated. KJV is a lot older version than NIV. So KJV is translated into older English, think 1800s English. NIV is a lot newer and so it is translated into newer English. I personally use ESV, which is like NIV, but a little more of a literal translation.
