The biggest thing i’ve seen on twitter is people talking about The Celtics Basketball Team saying they are “world champions” despite just winning the NBA
It’s so stupid they call themselves that, you won a DOMESTIC LEAGUE. I don’t care if USA have the best basketball league, that doesn’t mean your world champions when you haven’t won that against international teams.
Who wins the Champions league (cup tournament for best European football/soccer teams) are always the best team in the world but I’ve never seen a team call winning that “world champions” since they haven’t faced teams from the world! I feel like it’s just American arrogance.

The cricket World Cup has got me thinking: what is the dumbest school rule you had?
for me it had to be that, when playing cricket in primary/elementary school, if you hit the ball out of the sports arena you’re out.
Like WTF, I’m hitting fucking dingers but since the cage is so small I get out when I should be getting a 6 (or loads of runs as points as that’s how we played cricket in school) absolute bullshit.
