i feel like there’s some kind of mandela effect out there (maybe not a widespread one, but one that i’ve noticed pop up more frequently than i’d expect) where a surprising amount of people mistakenly think that wreck-it ralph is a pixar movie - for the record it’s not, it was made by disney’s normal animation studio

so many people i’ve talked to, when discussing pixar movies, seem to accidentally include wreck-it ralph in the discussion, but like, why? i mean i can understand not being an animation enthusiast and actually having a life and not knowing the names of literally every piece of media out there (a lot of people used to mistakenly assume all animation was disney until dreamworks showed up), but in the case of this movie in particular, i’ve noticed this misunderstanding comes up a lot more than it should

my best guess as to why is because the pixar formula, at least for a while, was “what if XYZ had feelings?” (toys, bugs, cars, etc), and wreck-it ralph seems to fit that criteria rather nicely as “what if video games had feelings?” but maybe there’s some other factor i can’t think of

in any case i’m probably overthinking this and i should go to bed ok bye
