People say that America is losing its position to China, but at least militarily only America has a world-spanning military force. We’re the only country that can invade a country on a different continent (Venezuela) and capture their leader, invade Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. China could literally never do any of that.
I was speaking just in military terms, not in nation-building. American operations like Desert Storm and the Afghanistan invasion were probably some of the biggest and most powerful military operations ever, and they took place on the other side of the world from the country.
I agree the actual aftermath of the invasions was not good, but just considering the offensive parts of them, they were really, really well planned and executed. Something China could never do, because they have no experience. (That’s why I think China uses other strategies for coercion instead of big military offensives.)
