Many disagreed with my last post. I understand y’all and I was worried personally about the post. However, his death did actually make me think and I believe my thoughts are respectful and the type of thing he and his family would want said about him at his death. I only posted it because I actually felt that.
It's not me being a salesman using a sad situation to guilt people into believing my religion. I genuinely think that:
1) Charlie would support me saying that (which I believe makes it respectful) and
2) Our need for Christ is the highest thing, above anything else, and so I must share it or my priorities would be misaligned. I just want to clear that up.
I think that including my own story could have been a good example, but it probably went too far and made it too self-centered.
Sorry to those I offended. I do grieve for his family and those around him who are suffering, and should have emphasized that in the post. But I think the core message was respectful to him and he would agree.
