a problem I'm beginning to realize now
GENSYS has been having a hard time integrating DRAGON for a while now
GENSYS also primarily makes sci-fi simulations
its kind of difficult to put dragons into sci-fi
not saying that you can't, obviously
but it is wayyy easier to just use humanoid species for sci-fi
with dragons in fantasy, you can just put them in a cave or the wilderness
but in sci-fi?
hahaha, have fun making ergonomics and systems for creatures that are:
quadrupedal
have talons
have wings
have big tails
and are generally pretty big
so generally GENSYS opts to place them in the role of deities
because deities don't need accomodations
but then the problem becomes how to properly use them in stories
I’m writing a novel about dragons, and before I even started it, I wrote ideas in a text file months ago. One of them took place in a sci-fi rapidly expanding world, where most dragons were actively losing habitats because of this, and the others were being hunted.
That was pretty much the only way I could fit sci-fi fantasy or modern fantasy with dragons, so it obviously wasn’t the one I picked, but I genuinely cannot come up with any better other way to incorporate the two in a way that makes sense and is easy to visualize.
