Anyways moving on from that sudden shinies drama

How to build a table

Building a table is not very complicated, but there are many complicated steps involved. This makes building a table very complicated.

  1. To build a table, you’ll want to use wood. It’s more stylish. The type of wood is up to you, but more robust wood is more durable - it also gives your table a natural look. This is is good.

  2. Cut out planks and drill your tabletop together. This could be a 1:2 rectangle or it could be anything else. For the purpose of this tutorial I’ll assume it's a 1x2 metre table being built.

  3. Make some of your planks into table legs (ideally you should have 4 but some tables use 3 or more) and drill the legs into the base. Make sure they’re equally spaced in terms of being mirrored so your table doesn’t look wonky. This makes your table more trusworthy [sic]. Make sure you leave an overhang around the legs so food doesn’t just drip down the table legs!!

  4. Using whatever it’s called the varnish or polish or whatever, make your table smooth and protected. Maybe you should’ve done this earlier in the planks stage oh well it's too late now.

  5. Stylistic choice: add a tablecloth. The more embroidery the better. Though if there’s embroidery remove it when you invite your cousins over for dinner and replace it with a cheap plastic cover from Walmart, or any other local store.

  1. Well done on building your first table! This is a very creative hobby so you should always experiment when building tables. :)
