hii we purged the wasteof discord because it was getting toxic and mostly offtopic. if you were kicked it has nothing to do with you, and it was entirely impersonal (based on join dates). we’ll be opening up the discord in the future, but for now it’s closed while we readjust everything (trust me you aren’t missing out on much)
alright @everyone. here’s a reminder. this is a discord server to discuss wasteof.money, coding, technology, and adjacent topics. it’s just a place for us to hang out. it is not a place for overwhelming US politics or to have weird arguments.
recently, many people have joined here who aren’t particularly interested in wasteof and or its development. that’s fine, but i want to keep this a safe place for wasteof. so we’re now shooing you all away. there’s plenty of space on discord for everything else.
honestly, i haven’t been particularly interested in engaging much in here because it gets quite toxic. moreover, we’re not equipped or interested in moderating the level of toxicity.
we’re about to do a slightly drastic change which will probably kill the discord for a little bit, but will hopefully shake things up a little.
to those of you affected, it’s not personal at all, and you’re absolutely free to rejoin if you’re interested in wasteof.money. otherwise, shoo!
what if there was a discord bot we could add that firehosed for us because firehose was useful pls
i think we’ll probably just add firehose as a native feature of the website.
