we’re so terrified of our own thoughts that we drown them out whenever we can.
music or videos or podcasts or tv or social media or other content.
like when was the last time you didn’t have any external stimulation of any kind. like just lost in your own thoughts? probably in the shower, and then you’re back to stimulation 24/7. surely thats a problem???
just a thought
bold of you to assume i don't have my internal dialogue running even when doing internet stuff!
checkmate i have adhd so my brain has found ways to keep itself stimulated by constructing little worldbuilding projects and stories when i’m bored. I could legit sit in a room for 2 hours alone with my thoughts; I think I already have. you might think that adhd is a weakness in this case, but for me, it has imbued me with god-like un-boredom powers.
1. All the time 2. Having it more would make me depressed 3. It happens with stimulation 😔 4. Chances are your life will be insignificant and pointless even on a human scale especially because as an individual few people matter
I see it as a good thing to be able to drown out my thoughts cause it usually means I can get to sleep much faster than I used to be able to
I find that my thoughts in daylight hours are generally okay to deal with
my thoughts get through even when i am stimulated and most of the time i don’t like said thoughts
I used to spend hours outside, thinking, when I had more free time. People think you’re weird when you do stuff like that, because you kinda are.
I find that a good way to get back into your own thoughts is by creating things by yourself, especially art
