Hot take: people spend way too much time talking about issues that don't matter, like LGBTQ and race (note: not to say that LGBTQ and race are unimportant issues. In fact, there needs to be equal rights and treatment in both categories. Just, comparatively, they are not as important), and way too little talking about things that really matter for the survival of humanity, like climate change and space travel.

so, idk if people have figured this out yet, im gonna go ahead and guess yes, but I am transgender, specifically I am a trans feminine nonbinary person. That means that I don’t identify with a specific gender, but I more or less “align” with a girl. Being transgender in that sense is pretty common. However, sometimes someone may “align” with something else kind of? It’s really complex, and its one of those things where you can really only feel it. You really can’t understand because you don’t identify in that way. I don’t fully understand myself dor that same reason. And yes, some people who identify like that want attention, just like some who identify as gay, but the vast majority do not. It also has a lot to do with autism, but I have not like done any research into how, so I can’t tell ya how. what it really comes down to, regardless of why, is that some people do identify that way, so respect that. And on the off chance someone is doing it for attention, its still easier for everybody if you just deal and respect it. I hope I did a good job of explaining, but if you have any more questions just lmk and ill see if I have an answer. Toodles
Hot take: Genders that are actually about social, psychological, sexual etc (with these of course can be set-in-stone or can change aspects (like the ones on this list: https://young.scot/get-informed/gender-identity-terms/) are fine but genders related to not living things (like books, web browsers etc) are weird and to me seem like attention seeking - like who identifies themselves as Google Chrome? Or Diary Of a Wimpy kid?

okay “say why i don’t like it” not that i’ve done that a million times before but i’ll say it again:
i really don’t like it when allocishet people give their opinion on shit about the lgbtq+ community when it literally does not affect them in the slightest. if i said i’m a “enby cat robot thingy” for example and used it/she pronouns that wouldn’t affect you other than the fact that you would call me it or she, so complaining about this “oh my god this person has a gender that’s slightly unusual” is just fucking absurd to me and that you three are still going on about it is just odd (i’d literally said fuck all and got @’d out of nowhere)

If you don’t like what he’s saying, don’t insult him. Actually say why you don’t like it. Or give reasons as to why it’s wrong. This kind of stuff literally provides 0 value to the site or discussion. It’s flamebait.

Every week getting farther from Sunday, huh? Looks like everyone couldn’t hold back this week, bit of a violent one. As a reporter, that makes me rather happy. Let’s get straight into it:
LOTS of conflicts about some really spicy topics, specifically gender and sexual identity.
Wasteof had a very active week due to these controversies, with many trying to quell them.
@lily and @oren were in direct conflict due to a series of responses to @dertermenter ’s post.
Things finally brimmed over the edge when @froggy posted “people should sleep with socks on”. This led to the further outrage explained above. While I try to stay non-partisan, such a vigorous opinion was truly uncalled for. There was no right for @froggy to say such disturbing things, without as much of a trigger warning.
