Just got home from my holiday vacation. I cleaned up the objectives in a special Water-type hyperspace wild zone real quick, so I did a little fly-spamming and got this shiny Mudkip.
Y'know what? I'm gonna commit myself to this challenge. I'll see if I can catch a shiny PokΓ©mon every day for the rest of the year. Considering that a PokΓ©mon Storage System box can hold 30 PokΓ©mon, I'll quite literally be making a shiny advent calendar! Maybe I'll make a separate account to share them on.

I really wanted to work on something big across all nine days, but my on-and-off motivation has made it difficult. Iβve had multiple ideas for Rhythm Doctor levels and small drawings, but none of them have come into full actualization. In the words of a certain song, Iβm π±π’π΄π΄πͺπ°π―π’π΅π¦ π£πΆπ΅ π§πͺπ€π¬ππ¦.
Iβm not one to make resolutions, but this is a nice start to the year.
I think that I just discovered a new meta for PokΓ©mon Legends: Z-A. Tatsugiri and Dondozo retain their special interaction with each other. When a Dondozo is switched in with a Tatsugiri on the team, it gains a boost to all five stats. The OHKO move Fissure, which Dondozo can learn, has been changed to a 250 base power physical move for the Legends format. However, itβs still absolutely lethal.
My setup is to train a Dondozo in Attack and Speed, have it hold Soft Sand, teach it the moves Fissure and Order Up, and put a curly Tatsugiri in the team. With this setup, youβll be able to target preoccupied competitors and fire off at least one super-lethal Fissure with 240 effective base power. Dondozo is more than tanky enough to survive any blows while it charges up, and Order Up can be used to regain the attack boost. I tell you, donβt doze on Dondozo!

It always has been, considering its shiny retention system and a multitude of spots for AFK hunting, both scripted and rubber band-based. However, the Mega Dimension DLC has an unprecedented new mechanic; something that can put even the 7% shiny rate of USUMβs Ultra Wormholes to shame. With the right distortions and the right donuts, you can cut out the hunting process and get yourself a guaranteed shiny.
If you enter a distortion using a donut with a Lv. 3 Shining Power, it will force one random PokΓ©mon that matches the donutβs type to be shiny. This will be signified by a βCatch shiny PokΓ©monβ objective appearing on your research tasks. Because I went into this distortion using a Psychic Shining Power donut, and there are no other Psychic-type PokΓ©mon in the distortion, this would force the presence of a shiny Alolan Raichu.
Of course, if the PokΓ©mon youβre after canβt be singled out through its typing, you can still play the chance game. If the guaranteed shiny you get isnβt the species youβre looking for, you can quit out and press X-B-β on the title screen to safely save-scum out and try your luck again. Considering how easy this method is, I wonder what bounties the professional shiny hunters are pursuing . . .
I tried shiny hunting Glimmet in a hyperspace wild zone. I wasn't disappointed.
I just witnessed the absolute cinema that is the finale of Rhythm Doctor. All that I can say without spoiling anything is . . . they absolutely did not have to cook that hard. They quite literally used every resource as a canvas for the story, even doing some things that I didn't even know were possible with the technology at their disposal. They also polished up some rough gameplay mechanics that functioned inelegantly or were locked behind the Call Custom Method event. Think about it this way: if the act 5 update was equivalent to Rain Worldβs More Slugcats Expansion, the full release is equivalent to The Watcher.
