Hey, since you seem to know how to move wikis according to https://wasteof.money/posts/68081b366a6594a392530f5b#comments-6808f56b6a6594a392530fec can I ask you a few questions? About moving to Miraheze (I don’t think moving to a completely independent one would be worth it)

sure! i’ll do my best to answer your questions, but do keep in mind that i might not be able to help with more technical questions - when my wiki forked, i mostly just did research; i didn’t actually do any of the moving, the guy that hosts my wiki did.

Okay, I see. I’ve been reading the Miraheze article on moving wikis as well as the Fandom policy on forking, and I was wondering if it's possible to somehow circumvent the restrictions with some sort of loophole? The wiki i’m looking to move is ~220 pages and I don’t want to rewrite it from scratch.

The part about having administrators left behind on the old wiki is also a problem to me because there’s exactly 1 active administrator (not me) who is currently looking to remove other administrators from the wiki. Do you think would it be possible to use some inactive admins to fake staying on fandom? if that makes sense

Sorry for the delay, I forgot you posted this. For your first question, I hate to say this but, I don’t entirely know how to do this. I do know you can download all the contents of your wiki and move them onto the forked one, but I don’t entirely know how as a more experienced person did that on my behalf.

For your second question, that’s not what I did, but if it’s what you have to do to leave Fandom, you might as well try it! Your wikis are likely small enough that Fandom won’t notice you trying to fork unless you go around advertising it, so just don’t make a big stink about it on the Fandom wiki and you should be in the clear.

I’m not an administrator on the wiki yet, (people who are admins have 200 or less edits while I have the most contributions at 1600 and counting; this is surely corruption) but when I am I’ll definitely get an updated database download to use to fork!
