hi all - just a little update on the situation with my raspi
i did indeed screw stuff up, and i did lose some data. my raspberry pi has been fully reset, but I have some data still. some of the scripts that post to the bots i own have been corrupted, notably breakingbot and @esben’s riddlebot. i have also lost the code that i use to train @markovmoney, though the model (albeit a slightly older version) + runner still exist. i also have a slightly modified version of the code, so i should be able to restore it.
anyways. i hope to get everything back, but no promises.

The WALL·E subtitle I have (don’t ask where I got it) translates “Get out the brilliantine and dime cigars” as “Take the brilliantine and one-tenth dollar cigars”
I find this absolutely verbose so I changed it to “Take the brilliantine and ten cents cigars”
Imagine being so busy you have to delegate the task of arranging an appointment for some to your phone assistant.
And no, it’s not just putting an appointment on your calendar. I mean your phone literally calling someone you asked, then having a conversation with your own voice (!) to arrange an appointment to the caller.
Apparently this is in development (or if not, already implemented). I’m not sure if I should be amazed or freaking out. (The announcement could be a joke though.)

In my technical math midtest I’ve been asked to turn a circle at an offset into its “ball coordinate” representation and at first I was confused about what this ball coordinate means
10 minutes left and I figured it’s probably polar coordinates, so I did that (it had a nice cancellation as well)
Some mistakes:
I need to compress (cos θ - sin θ), and I forgot how the general equation looks like. I do know that cos(A+B) = cos A cos B - sin A sin B (since I had to prove that earlier), so I just had to figure out what B makes cos B = sin B so I can factor it out later. I thought cos 45° = sin 45° = ½, but it’s not after I left the exam room when I realized it’s not ½ but ½√2
Turns out what the lecturer meant on “ball coordinate” is the equation r = …, not polar coordinates (though it’s close)
So either way I answered that question wrong
