we talk a lot about enshittification nowadays, but what companies do you think have survived it? or at least haven't actively made their business worse? the ones I'd say off the top of my head without much thought are Costco, Casio and Crocs (accidental alliteration lol)

True hopefully the new free model doesn’t result in enshittification

  1. In-N-Out - they made it perfect then they NEVER fixed what kept on working

  2. Yamaha (audio equipment at least) - never cut corners, made improvements

  3. Panasonic - basically they played if it aint broke dont fix it for manufacturing, kept their quality and performance

  4. Ubiquiti - swore to never ride the subscription train and still upholds this with their latest and greatest

  5. Behrigner- actually an example of the opposite of enshittification over the decades!

  6. BSR System/X10 - unbroken 50 years of compatibility and never changed their prices

  7. whatever contractor makes most (mini sized)incandescent christmas lights (specifically those with a rectangular shaped stacking plug, not round stack)-durability/build quality has actually improved, even upsizing copper and prices have stayed insanely low

  8. EPSON - keeps old hardware usable, and completely ignores riding the enshittification of the rest of the market

  9. LOR - reverse enshittification, making their entry level software from paid to completely free and introducing a refurb shop with even lower hardware prices

  10. ETC - keeps innovating while not leaving their existing lineup behind and provides support for some decades old hardware

i mean yeah but at least what i meant was that the actual crocs themselves are just as durable as they were years ago, they haven’t made them break or not last as long to boost sales
