altho the traditional fortune cookie(extemely uncommon today) was invented in japan, this fun fact actually holds true for the one we are all familar with today was infact invented at the japanese tea garden in golden gate park (which ive actually been to somehow) - SF CA , by Makoto hagiwara, a japanese immigrant
