What’s the benefit of this? It wouldn’t make the game free right??
minecraft is already super easy to pirate, effectively the only thing you get from buying it is multiplayer

Well, it makes it even easier to pirate, as you literally just have to copy the .jar file, so you can pirate it easier without getting some sort of malware or info-stealer.
you could say minecraft is source available then
this could bring on a second golden age in modding(the first being 1.12.2)
1.12.2 had a generational run, I wish 1.13 didn’t fully rewrite the game and ruin the golden age
