i feel like i probably would do this if i could be bothered to figure out how, but at the same time when i want to type special characters, more often than not it’s one i already know the unicodepoint for, so i can just ctrl+shift+u codepoint it
a while ago i had a laptop where holding the fn key completely changed the keyboard layout, including adding a numpad
