@ethernet @pufferfish101007 be fr, would you rather have a headphone jack, or two usbc ports

2 usb c ports would actually be useful but now that i have a truly portable laptop(apple silicon) its not as big of a selling point to me - also unlikely any oem would do it as the customer support implications are insane once you remember that usb is a client-host architecture, not P2P tree like firewire/thunderbolt-things get really complex with all phones being hybrid host/clients

so id take an onboard DAC on all models first, 2 usb c ports really is more of a pro max their thing

also usb C everything became what it swore to destroy but even worse since they all look the same but aren’t :/

charging and audio I/O without a splitter hanging out of a phone - also the DAC and amp that was previously built into the phone is better than any reasonably priced adapter since all USB C to analog audio adapters have their own DAC and amp - they are usb audio interfaces

A splitter is simply because of the lack of ports, so people usually advocate for adding a headphone jack, because it’s a really common use case (charging your phone while having headphones plugged in) But if your going to add another port, why not make it another USBC port? More versatile, just as good (unless your some audio professional)

not really just as good since you still need an adapter but it does become more practical as right now getting an audio out from my phone means having a VGA port sized dongle followed with a 3.5mm adapter, almost as long as the phone itself plus easy to loose

because trs→usbc adapters are expensive
