Yeah i’ve been thinking about this, while a lot of people are complaining about the new iPhones not having any “New Features”. But honestly, new hardware features aren’t that important anymore. Phone companies are clearly trying to make the feature they DO have better, battery, cameras, screen, and most of all OS. There just isn’t too much to add to phones now. The camera control was a “new cool feature” but has proven to be kind of useless. All the pixels 10s “New features” and mostly software as well. It’s kind of boring without new fun hardware features, but realistically what else is there to add to these slabs we all carry around.
kinda crazy how i’ve not cared at all about any new smartphone releases the last few years. like oh, the new one is marginally faster? it has ai? whatever lol. the innovation has cratered because smartphones already do almost anything we’d ever want them too
There still are some cool hardware features coming out lately, the pixel’s temperature sensor, action button, ect. But there are barely any new hardware features these days, usually maybe 1 to 2 per phone. I think this is why you see 20 billion videos of random youtubers making the “iPhone is the exact same this year “ joke. In fact, that’s probably why apple switched up the design, to atleast change the hardware in some way.
i think im just yapping, but yeah i agree phones do enough now
ok i just watched a parker burton video and he kinda says the same stuff, now adays if you get a new phone there isn’t like a bunch of shocking features to play around with, it’s just a slightly improved all around experience
