the youtube video i heard this in (yes, i know, the most reliable source) said that the UK signed onto GDPR after brexit, so i think it would make sense that it would still be bound by it (or not, i really don’t know)
you don’t “sign onto gdpr”, its a law passed by the eu and implemented into the law of its member nations. the uk implemented gdpr before leaving the eu, and as part of the laws surrounding their succession, all existing EU law was incorporated into British law. however, because it’s now just British law, Parliament can amend and override it whenever they want.
even if it is we are not bound by EU law anymore so it can be overrided by new laws
