If you're using grass (aka 1 million particles), yeah it's going to crash. I remember my grass phase.
I suggest learning 3D animation, I think it's a very neat form of animation. The faster the learn it the more time you have to get good. Additionally, you do not need a beefy computer, and shortcuts you make in animation are actually just stylization if you make it look good. Keep going, my liege
