Disqualify means you actually were banned from running. If you drop out (or die) your vote for them still counts. Same thing as in real life. If your presidential candidate dies after you vote for them, you can’t change your vote.

The rules clearly say disqualify, so leaving on your own behalf or getting fatally shot doesn’t count.

There are like a lot of definitions of disqualify and many list a definition along the lines of “to deprive of the required qualities, properties, or conditions : make unfit“ which describes this case. Regardless, we can just ask the official guy anyway, no need to argue.
