Seriously!? Do you have any idea how hard programming the backwards compatibility would be? For all we know, every atom in the universe would be considered unstable matter and explode the microsecond the system updated! If you figure out how to implement a new physics system without destroying the universe, give me a call.

Yeah, but even if they did, the investors would go broke. They wouldn't necessarily go broke from anything in particular; they, and their money, would stop being economics and start being physics. I have serious questions about these investors.
