I guess you can send your data from your old switch over to the new one but it wipes the old one

If you're trading in your console, just factory reset it, that's not hard. This seems to be a greedy move by Nintendo which I cannot understand the purpose of

Considering what they've done with the console so far, I think it is malicious. Especially that you had to Google to find it, it stinks of Nintendo (bad things and spaghetti)
No I get it I’m just not sure how it would benefit them. I’m also not completely sure if I was reading the right things because I was tired
it didn't for me? i just did it. it just copies everything over, the only things deleted off the original switch are any profiles that don't have a nintendo account linked (and possibly screenshots, i haven't checked)
See that’s what I thought should happen but I guess I was in a delirious state and just saw “delete” somewhere and was worried
