if the cost of repairs exceeds $500, should my new laptop be a mac (i have grown quite accustomed to macos) or should i buy a framework laptop

I mean I personally have never ever got a “repair” for my devices cuz none of it ever has an actual issue that I cannot fix myself. If you’re the same kind of person, consider MacBook.

Framework laptop!! throw linux on it, storage/memory upgrades are a no brainer on those - buy a base spec mac and you are cooked unless you can spend $200 for a bit more ram and another $200 for storage - are you posting this cuz your current macbook air needs repair or you just want a newer/more capable one for college?

base spec macbook has 16GB RAM which is kinda enough tbh (storage is a different story)

A Copilot+ PC with Recall! (Just kidding, I agree slider. Get a Framework and then stick Linux on it if you don’t like Windows)
