for those wondering, this is a new tool we’re testing as a mod team. in the past, when arguments develop into flamewars, we’ve just deleted posts, but this causes context to be lost, and is just overall a bit invasive.
with locking a post, we can now indicate our disapproval of the argument and put our foots down to stop it, without being so invasive/deleting so much.
still, the goal of wasteof isn’t a “free speech platform” and never will be. this is meant to be a safe space with civil discussion, and as a mod team we will take action where necessary to maintain it.
