i think i saw someone say something like “when is video games 2 coming out” and i kept thinking about what video games 2 would even be and honestly i think there is an actual answer
it’s just brain chip games. Like think about it. Video games are called video games because they use video screens, and every video game has been based off of that. A sequel would have to do something different, and the mind itself could be that different thing. You also get way more immersion obviously since you could probably actually taste stuff, which traditional video game technology can’t accomplish (btw touch and smell have already done before but it’s rare). Like this would actually just be video games 2.
Sure you might have to sell your soul to a really sketchy tech company and have to go through one of the scariest surgeries of all time where a big robot thing cuts into your head and slowly implants tiny little devices inside your brain with very little room for error and you might even start to experience popup ads IRL breathe WHILE you might be at risk for mind control, memory and dream theft, and plenty of other possible dangers but this is the next big thing guys trust me!!!
so I get what you’re saying but I honestly don’t think we’ll have to worry about Elon Musk and Nintendo collaborating to put a chip in our heads, since people honestly don’t completely understand the human brain yet. I think sooner than that we’ll have games that are custom made for us by ai because that’s a little more plausible, and it’s actually kind of a good idea. (the problem with that would be that nobody would ever play the same game as anyone else, since there would be so many games that it would be virtually impossible to actually play the same ones as your friends, etc etc)
