i love my watch. it’s a casio g-shock something something, and it tells the time and date, accurate to the second, and does literally nothing else. no notifications, no “take a moment to breathe”, it’s literally just a simple non backlit display that tells the time.
i think this is also the experience people have with mechanical watches but for me, time is not fractions of a circle, it is a number. i can’t read analog clocks 😬
ive a gshock with analog hands, it is SOOO good, it tells you the time, has a world clock feature!! and a stopwatch/timer/alarm if needed, and i can basically slam it into walls/doors and not a scratch
yup, i love my child's analogue watch (childs so it fits on my wrist). it tells the time and has a button to make it light up, and that's all i need
true! i have a digital “timex ironman” watch and its fairly minimal and nice to have
not being able to read analog though 😭
I also have a casio g-shock! Still a very basic digital watch, but has some “fancy” features, like timer, stopwatch, and world clock. It’s great having a watch that doesn’t need charging every few days lol
I’m a big fan of clocks. The good thing about analog is that it’s more visual, so you can really see a quantity of time, whereas digital depends on your cognition of numbers. Come to think of it, that’s the case for a lot of other things that are analog or digital
that’s definitely a fair point! i think for me numbers are a lot easier to manipulate than analog things - eg. if my train gets here at 8:00 and its 7:54, i have 6 minutes to catch the train, and in my head i have a very concrete understanding of how long a minute is, and i can trust that other people also do, so it’s easier to communicate.
although, now that i think of it, i guess if i was good at analog clocks, i’d be able to do the same - i guess minus the communication part.
