is someone able to explain what happened and what meower exactly was. I know it was a social media platform but I don't really understand how it worked when I briefly checked it out a year or two ago. whats odd is how the website has no mention of the shutdown either.
the main form of communication was just a list of messages that everyone can see/add to. there were also group chats/private messages. i think those were the only main features
it started as a scratch project, but the ST didn’t like that so it moved to being a packaged turbowarp project then eventually they made an html client, and a bunch of other people made clients
now the only acknowledgement from the main page is that all clients are listed as dead clients

It did have a mention of the shutdown in the mail section of app.meower.org which was the actual site
gotcha, thanks btw to you and everyone who explained this to me, I was pretty out of the loop lol
There is a mention of the shutdown now - all the clients on meower.org are in the “dead clients” section
