Complaints about Apple silicon Macs when they were first released:
Low base RAM (FIXED with M4 chips, 16gb is standard)✅
Egregious upgrade prices (Not fixed)❌
No way to use external GPUs (FIXED because the integrated GPUs are actually good enough)✅
Small SSDs (Not fixed but also not a very strong complaint, because you can plug in external SSDs) ⚠️
Bad repairability (They have been getting better on publishing repair details and making parts available, but Macs are still physically hard to repair, even if you know how) ❌
i dont agree with 3: its good but not enough to beat similarly priced windows laptops with RTX 40 series GPUs (they support CUDA too)… and point 4: 256gb as base is just SAD, if they upped that to 512 like they did with the RAM (8 → 16) then that’d be great
Yeah, but I feel like I haven’t heard complaints about it for a long time though.
