a better messaging standard, so if you’re texting over RCS you can use stuff like reactions, typing indicators, and read receipts and send larger files. Before this you had to use SMS and that’s from like the 1990s

I’m shocked frankly, I have to assume they are doing this since the EU has opened an investigation into iMessage that could result in the EU making Apple open up the iMessage service to interpolate with other devices like Android.
