i think these posts are getting too overly specific to be relatable anymore
And while we’re at it this seems to happen with other things including:
Antarctic research bases
Tiny islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean
Literally anywhere in Siberia or Kamchatka
Tiny Peruvian mountain villages
Dilapidated midwest ghost towns
Nomad campsites in the Sahara desert
Literally any town located at the northernmost, southernmost, easternmost, or westernmost point in a country
This dumb arctic village thing also applies to Canada, Greenland, and Svalbard
DO NOT mention any random alaskan north slope town or I will die trying not to go down a 2 hour rabbit hole on google maps and Wikipedia reading about a tiny village above the arctic circle with some goofy gold rush name where the only inhabitants are an inuit seal fisherman and a guy from the government deployed there to operate a weather station
