the first guardians of the galaxy was cute. the second guardians of the galaxy was also cute. they are two of the best films in the mcu but they have their problems. now this new one, guardians of the galaxy vol. 3, is the best mcu film of all time. marvel has been attempting to reach this level of emotional connection for years (and failed over and over in their attempt to seem “real and serious”) and this film does it with grace. definitely up there with “the batman” when it comes to the best superhero films of the past decade. i also hope it breaks a billion at the box office, beats super mario for #1 earning film of 2023 (mario was cute but let’s be honest, that shit had no plot) and shows marvel that quality > quantity
