i don’t like that everyone hates webp - it’s a really cool format (transparent like png, animates like gif), and everything i use can open it
very little of the software i actually use supports webp, that’s why i don’t like it
what software do you use that doesn’t support webp
and anyway, i wrote a files extension that you can right click and select “Turn Into…” to convert something to another file so that isn’t much of a problem for me
libreoffice, gimp, pantoMIME, converseen, MATEye, a couple of other packages i have scrambled throughout my system…
libreoffice: i suspected
gimp: lie; i can open it in that
pantoMIME, converseen: no clue
MATEye: weird, Eye of GNOME supports it
fun fact: I have a corrupted webp of prismatic penny
ok
honestly i forgot why i hated webp so now i like it
can powerpoint support it yet
unlikely because microsoft
neither can onlyoffice though
i am not going to use the microsoft store to get the webp codec
imagine having to use the microsoft store instead of just being able to write sudo apt install webp
sudo apt install webp
