why do cameras cost so much?

idk, good phones cameras are prob 500-1000 dollas but I think you can get a good dslr for 200

our phones are more expensive than the cameras, my dad has a camera from 2011-2012 ish which i guess, very expensive in singapore dollars

I had to get an 8-no DSLR plus lens and memory cards for my digital photography class, found a model that fit all the criteria on eBay for 100 bucks and it came with everything and works great

they last much longer than computers though, but good lenses cost quite a bit
