I have a question: I’m getting a new MacBook Pro soon and is it better to have more CPU cores or more SSD storage? For the same price I can upgrade to get more CPU and GPU cores (it gives you 2 extra CPU cores and 3 extra GPU cores), or I can upgrade to 1 TB of storage (it comes with 512 gb). I’m planning to keep the computer for like 5-6 years so keep that in mind as well

flux:

depends

programming/school work: storage

gaming/just-for-fun: cpu

I think I'm getting storage

that’s good

especially for a long usage time (6 years is what i’m going with)

so that’s pretty useful

Yeah, I have 1 TB on my current computer and it’s really nice

MacBooks are good for programming but gaming sucks

This is really just a choice between more processing power and more storage space. If you're going to be doing stuff like collecting memes, storage space is probably what you want, but if you're going to be using any process intensive applications, more processing is what you want.

Put on keeping it for a long time, so that's why I'm considering storage. Also, it's not much of a better processor, just a few cores

But I'm keeping it

You're going to want the storage for sure. The difference between 512 gigs and a terabyte is extremely noticeable. Also may I say: frick you apple for making your storage not upgradable

That's what I was thinking. My current computer has 1 TB, and I've used about half of it
