How to wasteof api
Issue: Explore page lags or even crashes low-end devices, I’m assuming this is because the site is retrieving lots of data at once (banners, profile pictures, trending, even more things).
Also a good idea would be to make a GitHub repo for this but only upload a Markdown so that way we have a place to report bugs and issues rather than posting them on your wall or @ing you in a post. Basically a repo to make issues, no source code has to be uploaded.
agreed. explore page needs some work. not sure how to do it, but i’ll experiment once i get some time.
as for a gh repo, i personally don’t like empty repos just for issues. a proper bug tracker would be the best solution.
Not so sure about that, I'm on apple watch and it works fine
I mean low-end devices like a 2015 Android phone, besides, Apple upgrades their watches to have decent preformance, I mean stuff like a really old laptop, old Android device, much more. I’ve seen someone post about it a while back but forgot to also make a notice to Jeffalo talking about it and it’s been happening everyday, my cursor freezes, gets very laggy, much more.
I am using a brand new school laptop and it still is really laggy (because schools choose the cheapest laptops on the dang planet).
yeah, i’m using a chromebook right now, and explore page seems to be the only page that excessively lags
i feel like the main cause is the banners because of how big they are and how many people have them (but i don’t actually know if this i the cause)
something weird is if you go above the 750 character limit in bios you cant delete any text, you'd have to refresh to be able to type...

a signature (appears on all posts that the user makes, can be customized separately from your posts
a suggestions page for suggestions like this one
can you support another image hosting service? cubeupload is down a lot nowadays, could you possibly also support https://imgur.com/ ?

first one looks like a good deal, but i dont know much about the processor and power consumption. you’d also want to wipe and reinstall the server os on those.
an old desktop pc works fine as a server too btw.

how do i upload images and other files onto my posts?
on that note, are you going to add an “upload file” button to wasteof.money?

For images, follow these steps:
upload to cubeupload
go to the image link
right click and select “copy image”
go to the post you want and simply paste. Or if you want to be techy, you could upload through the api with an <img> tag

I doubt he’s going to add an upload button, and probably not anything for files bc malware but the add image button seems very likely because its already ready
