Country hot takes (in order of how hot they are):

Every possible country should join the EU and NATO
Let Kurdistan be independent
Let Kosovo be independent
Let Catalonia be independent
Let Greenland be independent
Let Abkhazia and South Ossetia be independent
Let Somaliland be independent
Give Washington DC to Maryland
Move the Idaho/Oregon border (Greater Idaho movement)
Northern Ireland should join Ireland. All other UK independence movements should not move forwards, however
Let all Canadian provinces vote to join America
Merge Liechtenstein into Switzerland, San Marino into Italy, Monaco into France and Andorra into Spain. Or let them join the EU. Either option.
Make a single country out of the EU (like a United States of Europe)

Yeah they just don’t want to add another blue state without a red state to balance it. That’s why DC should be added to Maryland, because they get representation without messing up the balance of the senate. Puerto Rico needs another red state to balance it out.

My scenario for dc might be enough to actually turn virginia red in exchange, but it could never happen because it would take away a third of our population and a big part of the economy

No clue how to get puerto rico in but I’m also not completely convinced they couldn’t be a swing state

Yeah, if the Republicans were willing to shift slightly to the center, they could probably win several states like Virginia or New Mexico. Puerto Rico would probably be different from all the other states though, it's just a completely different culture.
