nyc fact/tip #28:

since the post got 7 likes and 7 is greater than 5, i will post a photo. maybe i will post some other photography later as well. i took this photo yesterday and was going to take more but was sort of in a rush so i couldn’t stop a lot.

so the fact for today is that most nyc subway stations have this green lamp on the outside. the station entrances you see more frequently (with just stairs that go down and a green fence around them) have these lamps on the corners, but i think it’s cool when other stations, like this one (96th street on the 1, 2, 3) also have them!

not all stations have these, particularly some new modern ones, but it’s interesting when some stations (like the hoyt-schermerhorn station on the a, c, g) that are modern incorporate it into a modern design. (see image https://ddp-ny.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/210-Livingston.jpg )
