my new TV doesn't have a composite port, so to play my xbox today i had a composite to scart converter into a shitty scart HDMI converter that needed external power. i couldn’t find the right psu for it, so i used the first one i found that fit.

the converter needed 5v, the psu gave it 7.5v

the worst part is though, it actually worked and nothing went wrong (other than the abysmal video quality, but the converter does that without being overvolted)
