for those of you who don’t know, there is a spell in D&D called “vicious mockery,” which is exculsive to bards. When cast, the caster says an insult and rolls damage. At 17th level, it deals 4d4 damage. A peasant (or commoner) has 10 hit points, so 4d4 can easily roll more than 10 damage. Therefore, a your mom joke can indeed kill in Dungeons and Dragons.
