What are my biggest strengths and weaknesses? I know what I think they are, but I'd like an outside perspective

Your weakness is asking a social media thing what your weakness are.

i’d rather ask them than ask nobody

Weakness is probably assuming stuff that you can’t have an opinion on - how can you say England is an L country when you’ve never been to it?

applejuiceproduc:

because it is

How? Have you even been to it?

oren:

honestly, I personally don’t have a strong opinion about Britain. I want to go there though.

I’ve been to Britain and I think that it’s okay. The monarchy is an L system, but not really much more than some of the corrupt/undemocratic stuff that happens here in America. 🤷‍♂️

I mean, the monarchs don’t do anything really. Just publicity figures.

That’s not true, they are beneficiaries of public tax money. Not because they did anything to deserve tax money, but because of their birth. A fundamental concept of equality/democracy is that no person can be above another person purely by birth.

Imagine paying for this one random British families expenses (not cheap!) with your tax money. Even the poorest Brits have to pay these people?!

6/9/2023, 10:33:36 PM
oren:

yes, but they bring in over $2 billion to the British economy per year. Net profit for the economy

dertermenter:

exactly

6/9/2023, 11:18:39 PM
asfsdgdfd:

is it the monarchy or the historical significance of the buildings, grounds, etc.? Additionally, this is not an excuse for funneling poor people’s money toward a family who isn’t special for anything except their birth. 🤷‍♂️

A lot is the monarchy. What do you think someone would most likely to go to England for - seeing Wembley or Buckingham palace?

6/10/2023, 3:28:06 PM
asfsdgdfd:

there are studies that indicate that most tourists don’t care about seeing the actual royal family. why don’t they elect or choose a family randomly to be the "royals” if they really want to, at least its not exploitative that way 😜

6/10/2023, 8:11:55 PM
dertermenter:

No, I mean caring about the buildings that are there due to the royal family

6/11/2023, 7:57:22 AM
asfsdgdfd:

the government can care for them just like any other historical site, but giving special treatment/fully paid expenses for a family just doesn’t sit right with me. on the other hand, they could just make it voluntary whether you want to pay the monarch (who is non-elected/non-democratic and whom not everybody supports)

Seems like a fair solution

6/11/2023, 2:05:36 PM

yup :)

I do partially agree with you though - a lot of tax money went towards to Meghan and Harry buying a villa in Spain. Ridiculous

6/10/2023, 3:29:47 PM
dertermenter:

The monarchy brings a lot of tourist money in for the country though as well

from what I’ve seen over the past ~1 year, you seem like a very persistent person. but you can appear slightly overconfident sometimes. (i don’t actually know you, though)🤷‍♂️
